Install the outer clamp. Use pliers 951 2619 Pliers See: Tools and Equipment/951 2619 Pliers.
Vent the boot.
Install the inner clamp. Use pliers 951 2619 Pliers See: Tools and Equipment/951 2619 Pliers.
Finishing work
Install the drive shaft according to Drive shafts, replace See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.
Tripod constant velocity joint boot (left side for M3P and M5P) on the drive shaft, replacing
Remove:
-
the tripod from the drive shaft
-
the snap ring
-
the tripod with an extractor for tripods
-
the boot from the drive shaft
-
the clip.
Carefully pull the boot over the bearing.
Note! Remove the steel ring from the boot if necessary.
