Wiper Motor: Procedures

Windshield

Windshield washer/wiper mechanism and motor 

Preparations for removing windshield wiper mechanism 

-

Turn on ignition.

-

Check that the wiper motor is in the parked position. Switch the windshield wipers on and off.

Switch off the ignition.

Replacing/removing the windshield wiper motor 

-

Remove the two mounting screws for the fusebox and slide the fusebox forward slightly, (only applies to right hand drive cars).

-

Remove cover.

-

Disconnect the connector.

-

Remove the mounting screws (x4) from the wiper motor mounting plate.

-

Lift the mounting plate slightly from the chassis and release the link mechanism press off the drive mechanism ball using a large screwdriver).

-

Remove the motor.
