Oil Filter: Service and Repair
Oil filter

Removal
Draining oil
Warning! Hot oil can scald. Avoid skin contact with engine oil, particularly if the engine oil is dirty. Immediately wash hands and any skin that
has been in contact with oil. Use a suitable cleaning agent and warm water. Wear protective gloves when working with engine oil.
Remove:
-
the oil filler cap. Raise the vehicle and fetch a container

the lower splash guard. Position the container under the engine oil trough

the oil plug.
Drain the engine oil. It is easier to drain the oil if the engine is at operating temperature. Reinstall the oil plug again. Always use a new sealing washer.
Tighten the plug. See Specifications. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Specifications/Mechanical Specifications/Tightening Torque. Install the
lower cover. Lower the vehicle.
Removing components
Remove:
-
the screws for the intake manifold between the front cover plate and the air cleaner (ACL) module
-
the inlet pipe.
For vehicles without a turbocharger (TC)
Remove the resonator from the air cleaner (ACL) module.
