Fretting corrosion on terminals (S40, V50, C70 MY06)
S40, V50, C70 MY06 ONLY
DESCRIPTION:
Fretting corrosion is caused by the movement of two contact points, eventually causing an oxide build-up and resulting in high contact resistance. This
may lead to customer complaints about electrical door functions such as power mirrors, power windows, central locking and incorrect reading from
ambient temperature display indication in the DIM (Drivers Information Module). If there is a problem with the temperature gauge, A/C performance
may be affected, causing the customer to complain about the climate system.
Customer symptoms may include the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) shown above.
