Preparatory work

Disconnecting the battery lead

Ignition off.
Disconnect the battery negative cable. See: See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures/Battery, Disconnecting

Warning! Never measure with an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument on a disconnected, non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS unit.
There is a risk of the seatbelt tensioner deploying.

Warning! A pyrotechnical SRS unit must never be dismantled, repaired, or moved to another vehicle.

Removal

Removing rear outer seatbelt

Fold down the backrest cushion.
