Liftgate Window Glass: Service and Repair

Rear window tailgate

Removal

Removing the rear windshield

Remove:

-

the tailgate panels. See: Tailgate/trunk lid panel See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Trunk / Liftgate Interior Trim
Panel/Service and Repair/Tailgate/Trunk Lid Panel

the stop lamp

-

the wiper motor

Disconnect rear windshield wiring.

Cut off approximately 5 m of wire from the roll.
Insert a wire inserter in the upper left-hand corner as illustrated.
Secure the wire and pull in the ends to the middle of the windshield.
Pull the wire around and downwards so it forms an eyelet around the outside of the windshield.
Check that the wire is at the bottom against the bead of adhesive.
Stretch the wire so it is still in position at the bottom. Pull in the excess from one end of the wire.
