DTC ECM-130A Mass air flow sensor, faulty signal, DTC ECM-250A Long term fuel trim, Lower limit, in limited adaptation areas.

This TNN replaces and supercedes TNN 28-72 dated 5-7-2007 & 6-09-2006, engine type 39 has been added to the model year range above.
DESCRIPTION:
The affected vehicles mentioned in the header equipped with naturally aspirated engines (non turbo) may set either or both of the DTC's 250A and 130A.
DTC ECM-250A - Long term fuel trim, lower limit
This condition may be seen as one or more of the adaptation areas having very low numbers (<0.8) when the others appear to have normal values (~1.0).
Lower numbers indicate a too rich condition. These low values may be seen in (but not limited to) areas 4.1 or 3.1 1.1 & 2.1.
There are 36 adaptation areas in total 1.1-6.6.
If after following the fault tracing in VIDA for DTC ECM-250A Long term fuel trim, lower limit, there are no remaining conditions that could cause a
too rich condition (too high fuel pressure etc. See VIDA) download the latest ECM software. This will reduce the number of adaptation areas to 16.
(VIDA will still show 36, but only 1.1 to 4.4 will be used for fuel adaptation. The 16 areas now cover the same range as the 36 prior areas).
DTC ECM-130A Mass air flow sensor, faulty signal.
This DTC can be wrongly detected at low air flows. A calibration change has been included in the latest ECM software to enable correct detection of this
fault. Fault tracing with VIDA will indicate a difference between calculated and actual air Mass, as being a faulty air flow sensor. The new software
adapts the calculated airflow to prevent mis-detection. If no other fault can be found after fault tracing according to VIDA, download the latest ECM
software.
SERVICE:
Upgrade the Engine Management Software using the ECM upgrade option in VIDA.
