Rear Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

Outer handle, rear door

Preparatory work

Disconnecting the battery lead

Disconnect the battery negative cable. See: See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures/Battery, Disconnecting

Open the tailgate.

Removal

Removing the outside handle rear side door

Remove the cover in the end of the door.

Slacken off the screw for the lock cylinder.

Note! Only loosen the screw 4 turns. Otherwise the screw may fall down into the door.

Remove:

-

the lock bracket

-

the rubber seal.

Work the handle loose from the door.
