DESCRIPTION:
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) SRS-0115 may be set incorrectly in the vehicle models listed in the header. This will cause the SRS (Supplemental
Restraint System) warning lamp to be lit and an SRS message to be displayed in the DIM (driver's information module). SRS functionality is not affected
when this DTC is posted incorrectly. Replacement of the Occupant Weight Sensor (OWS) that was previously required to solve this concern if no
harness or connector fault can be found is no longer valid.
SW has been developed that will prevent SRS DTC 0115 from being incorrectly set.
SERVICE:
If DTC SRS-0115 occurs, check the wire harness between the Belt Tension Sensor (ITS, located in the seat belt end fitting) and the Occupant Weight
Sensor (OWS) for short and open circuits. Also check the connector and terminal integrity. If no faults are found, and the OWS control unit has not been
previously upgraded, order and download software part number 31275610 as per the following procedure. Do not replace the OWS control unit or Belt
tension sensor (ITS).

Inspection
Check that the front occupant weight sensor (OWS) has not already been upgraded. See step 3 for marking identification.
NOTE!
If there are any other OWS related DTCs such as 0110, 0114, 0116 or 0120, they must be fault traced separately.
If DTC SRS 0115 is present, and the OWS ECU has already been upgraded, the OWS ECU must be replaced.

If there is no marking, download software according to current procedure.
