SUBJECT:
Outer Rear Seat Belt, Locked Retractor.

REFERENCE:
VADIS

DESCRIPTION:

A customer may complain about difficulty extending an outer rear seat belt.

This can occur if the seat belt retracts too quickly, causing the automatic locking retractor to engage. The problem can also occur after the back rest was
folded down and then slammed back up with high speed.

TOOLS & MATERIAL:

Felt tape, P/N 1161691

SERVICE METHOD:

Do not replace the seat belt. If the retractor is blocked, pull the belt out slowly, but with enough force to unlock and release the retractor. Then proceed
with the service method below.

-

Use felt tape P/N 1161691 (standard width = 50 mm).

-

Cut a 2-inch by 2-inch piece (50 mm by 50 mm).

-

Remove two-thirds of the protection paper.
