Slacken off the brake hose half a turn.

Remove:

-

the brake pads. See: Brake pads, front See: Disc Brake System/Brake Pad/Service and Repair/Brake Pads Front 

-

the brake caliper.

Unscrew the caliper from the brake hose.

Note! Collect the brake fluid.

Installing the brake caliper

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. See: Specifications/Tightening Torque

Install:

-

the brake hose in the brake caliper. Do not tighten the hose fully yet

-

the brake pads. See: Brake pads, front See: Disc Brake System/Brake Pad/Service and Repair/Brake Pads Front.

Tighten the brake hose.
Tighten, see: Tightening torque See: Specifications/Tightening Torque.

Note! Ensure that the brake hose is not twisted. If the brake hose is twisted, there is a risk of circuit failure.

Finishing

Fill and bleed the brake system

Remove the pedal jack.
To bleed the brake system, see: Brake system bleeding See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair/Brake System Bleeding.

Note! Use only Volvo Genuine parts brake fluid, Volvo DOT 4+.

Check:

The function of the brakes after bleeding. Check that there is no leakage
The brake fluid level.
Depress the brake pedal a few times.
