the mechanical cable to the gear selector. Secure the cable with the catch

cable on the gear selector nose

the key lock cable to the gear selector assembly.

Place the cable in the extracted locking sleeve the cable will be adjusted).

Initial setting of the key lock cable (adjusting)

Install the top panel on the gear selector assembly 

Install the top panel and boot. See Printed circuit board gear selector assembly/top panel, replacing.

Installing gear selector knob 

Install the gear selector knob. See Gear selector knob, replacing. 

Install the center console

Removal 
Remove the gear selector knob 

Turn the locking sleeve, under the gear selector boot, 1/4 turn. 
Pull the locking sleeve down from the knob. The locking sleeve must remain on the boot. 

Remove the gear selector knob as follows: 

Stand astride the center console. Grasp the gear selector lever knob with both hands. Pull it straight upwards with a hard jerk.
