6. Installing circlip and sleeve

Install:
-

Circlip in sleeve

-

Sleeve in transmission with the long splined section (2) toward the transmission.

Use a rubber mallet to knock in the sleeve.

NOTE: To install bevel gear and drive shaft, see  steps 8 through 15 of Bevel Gear, Replacement. See: Transfer Case/Service and Repair

Left Side

Special Tools:

-

Standard Handle tool No. 999 1801, or equivalent

-

Lifting Beam tool No. 999 5006, or equivalent

-

Lifting Hook tool No. 999 5460, or equivalent

-

Disconnecting tool No. 999 5462, or equivalent

-

Drift tool No. 999 5541, or equivalent

-

Protective Sleeve tool No. 999 5562, or equivalent

-

Support tool No. 999 5563, or equivalent

1. Positioning lifting beam and lifting hook

-

Position lifting beam 999 5006 directly above lifting hole in torque control arm.

Connect lifting hook 999 5460.
Raise lifting hook to unload engine pads.

2. Lift up car and remove left front wheel

-

Remove:

The bracket to the brake pipe and ABS line. Let bracket hang loose
Link from anti-roll bar
Control arm/ball joint from stub axle.
