Cutoff the tail pipe 35 mm (1 3/8 ") (A) as per the illustration.
Hint: Use chain style exhaust pipe cutter or equivalent.

Make a slot in 3 places with (B) = 120° in between.
The slots (A) should be approximately 30 mm (1 1/4 ").

Grind away:
-
rust and burrs from the inner and outer sections of the clamp

rust and burrs from the outer section on the tail pipe (1) and the edge (2)
