Raise car.
-
Remove air baffle between spoiler and frame member.

Detach pipe coupling to compressor (suction line).
-
Remove Receiver/Drier, suction line and bracket, by lifting it when it is hooked in the side member.
-
Remove Receiver/Drier and suction line from bracket.
When replacing suction line:
-
remove suction line from Receiver/Drier.
NOTE! Note the position of the suction line relative to the receiver/drier.
Installing Receiver/Drier or suction line
TTTN8 If replacing Receiver/Drier:
-
First read TTTN1.
-
Fill the new receiver/drier with new oil. See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair BG
-
Transfer suction line from the old to the new receiver/drier. Tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 ft.lb).
NOTE! Note the position of the suction line relative to the Receiver/Drier.
TTTN9 When replacing suction line:
-
First read TTTN1
-
Fill new suction line with fresh oil. See also BG.

Install suction line on Receiver/Drier. Tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 ft.lb).
NOTE! Install suction line in same position as noted when it was removed.
TTTN10 Installing Receiver/Drier or suction line, common operations
-
Install Receiver/Drier and suction line in bracket.
-
Install Receiver/Drier and suction line with bracket in side member.
-
Install the quick coupling to the evaporator at Receiver/Drier.
NOTE! Use new O-rings lubricated with compressor oil
-
Install pipe coupling to compressor. Tightening torque: 25 ± 6 Nm (19 ± 4 ft.lb).

Remove protective panel 999 5474
-
Install air baffle.
-
Install fan shroud.
-
Install relays and cable in fan shroud
-
For turbocharged engines:
-
disconnect hose from charge air cooler (CAC) and bend out of the way
-
remove cover over throttle pulley.
-
Install control module box fresh air intake.
-
Install suction intake hose and intermediate section between fan shroud nozzle and filter.
-
Reconnect battery negative lead.
-
Fill system with refrigerant according to BD. (See above)
