Read off the switch status.
The value should be LOW when the switch is activated.

Check VGLA control module connector and fuel tank filler cover switch connector for contact resistance and oxidation, See: Diagnostic Trouble
Code Tests and Associated Procedures/Related Tests and Information/Checking Wiring and Terminals - Permanent Faults

Ignition on.

Activate the fuel tank filler cover opening switch
Read off the switch status.
The value should be LOW when the switch is activated.
If the value is OK the cause of the fault was loose connections in the connectors.
Is the value LOW?
Yes
