Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

1. Remove battery

-

Disconnect battery positive and ground leads. Remove battery holder.

2. Remove fan unit

-

Remove upper mounting bolts (two).

3. Disconnect fan lead

-

Undo lead holder on crossmember.

-

Undo relay connector and disconnect ground lead from terminal on right-hand wheel housing in engine compartment.

4. Install new fan unit

-

Connect lead to connector and secure with cable tie.

-

Insert and tighten upper mounting bolts.

-

Reinstall battery and reconnect leads.

NOTE: 
-

The fan ground lead is secured by at least two cable ties between relay and ground terminal and that connector is very firmly attached to
ground terminal on right-hand wheel housing in engine compartment.

-

Also take care to minimize flashover between lead and terminal.
