Thermostat: Service and Repair

THERMOSTAT, REPLACEMENT 

1. Drain off approx. 2 hares of coolant

-

Remove expansion vessel cap.

-

Open drain cock in bottom of radiator (right-hand side).

-

Connect tube to cock to collect coolant. 

-

Close drain cock.

2. Remove thermostat connection branch

-

Remove thermostat and gasket (Torx 40).

3. Install new thermostat

-

Use new gasket. 

-

Place gasket on thermostat.

-

Place thermostat in housing. 

-

Refit connection branch.
