Power Door Lock Relay: Description and Operation
Control module (central locking relay)
The central locking relay is actually a control module consisting of a microprocessor, two relay coils supplying power to the central locking motors and a
transistor for the grounding signal to the interior lighting.
The central locking relay receives control signals from the central locking modules and activates the car's central locking system, driver's door relay,
interior lighting and alarm relay.
NOTE: If you activate the central locking relay more than 30 times in quick succession, the relay will lock to prevent itself and the central locking
motors overheating.
The central locking relay is located in the central relay module in the car position D/G.
The central locking relay has a backup in the form of a conventional (two-way) type driver's door relay in the central relay module in position N.
