Install piston, ensuring that tip of piston rod is positioned correctly in brake band seat.

Install piston and both springs.

NOTE:  It is extremely important that the piston rod is positioned correctly in brake band seat.

Install piston cover and snap ring.

Assembly 

-

Install control system, leaving screws loose.

-

Remove piston and check valve retainers.

-

Reconnect solenoid leads.

-

Install fluid strainer.

-

Install fluid pan.

-

Install HO2S lead.

-

Install pan drain plug and fill system with fresh fluid. Grade of fluid: ATF fluid that complies with the specifications for Dexron II E and Ford
Mercon or Dexron III and Ford Mercon. 

-

Reconnect battery ground lead.

-

Erase DTCs, if any.
