Front Safety Belt Retractor

Front safety belt retractor

Operation number: 88408-2

Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Disconnect the battery ground cable.  See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures/Battery Disconnecting and Connecting.

Information about the handling and storage of pyrotechnic SRS components. Refer to: Handling non-deployed pyrotechnical part See: Service and
Repair/Handling Non-deployed Pyrotechnical Part.

Warning! A pyrotechnical SRS component must never be unscrewed, repaired or transferred to another vehicle.

Warning! Do not use measuring equipment on the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electrical connector.

Remove the panel. Refer to: B-pillar trim panel See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and Repair/B-Pillar Trim Panel.

Remove the electrical connector. .
Torque: Safety belt retractor front to body, 40 Nm

Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Check the safety belt function. Refer to: Seat belt function, check See: Testing and Inspection.

Carry out a post check. Refer to: Supplementary restraint system (SRS), inspection See: Testing and Inspection.
