XC70 AWD L6-3.2L VIN 98 B6324S (2009)

Remove the left-hand side panel by grasping it at the upper edge and carefully pulling it from the car body and lifting up. It is secured by six clips.

Take the right side panel. Drill the hole for the socket in the upper rear corner on the lower section of the panel. The location of the hole is marked.

First pre-drill using a -3 mm (1/8") bit.

Then drill out the hole using a -27 mm (1 1/16") diameter hole saw.

File out the hole with a round and square file.

Remove any swarf.

Take the electrical socket from the kit, install and tighten it using the nut on the rear.
