Caution! Replace one piston at a time so that the springs are correctly installed during installation.

The thinnest spring should be against the terminal pipe.
Slacken off the remainder of the screws on the accumulator housing. Lift off the cover and the gasket.

Removing the pistons from the accumulator housing

Press the piston down on the spring so that the locating pin can be gripped.
Pull up the locating pin a little so that it releases from the mounting in the housing.
Work the locating pin with the piston side to side while at the same time pulling the piston up from the housing.
Use the same method for the other piston. Remove the spring from the piston.

Check:

-

that there is no dirt or other particles in the housing

that the springs are intact.

Blow the housing clean.

Installation

Installing new pistons for the accumulator housing

Install the locating pin and the spring in the housing.
