Seal drive shaft right, replacing

Special tools:

999 1801 STANDARD SHAFT See: Tools and Equipment/999 1801 Standard Shaft 
999 7063 Drift See: Tools and Equipment/999 7063 Drift

Preparations

Drain approximately 4 liters of fluid from the transmission.
Use an oil suction unit. Remove the dip stick. Ensure that the suction pipe reaches down into the transmission.
Extract approximately 4 liters of oil.

Removing the drive shaft

Remove the drive shaft. See Replacing the front right drive shaft See: Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair/Drive Shaft Right, Replacing.

Removing the drive shaft seal

Use a screwdriver.

Note! Do not damage the needle bearing when placing the screwdriver between the needle bearing and the sealing ring.

Remove the sealing ring.

Note! Check carefully that no residue from the old seal is left in the chain housing.

Installing the drive shaft seal
