Subframe/Control Arm Bolt may cause Noise or Incorrect Alignment
REFERENCE:
VIDA
Description
There may be cases of a knocking sound from the front suspension. It can occur when the driver brakes and turns the wheel at low speed. There may also
be cases of the steering wheel being off-center, or the car pulling either left or right, or incorrect front wheel alignment.
The problem may come from the connection between the subframe and the lower control arm rear bushing, and may be caused by incorrect torque in the
bolt and nut in this connection.
From chassis number 428201-, a new nut was introduced in production, and a higher torque was applied to the connection.
For vehicles within the chassis range above, if this bolt or nut are found to have an incorrect torque specification, or if they are found to be the source of
the noise or incorrect alignment, follow the Service procedure below.
