Engine Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor, Replacing 

NOTE:  The illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and/or models. Some variation may occur. However, the essential
information in the illustrations is always correct.

Removal 

Removing the upper cross stay 

Remove: 

-

the 4 screws at the suspension turrets

-

the screws of the upper engine mount on the engine

-

the upper cross stay.

Removing the upper rear engine cover 
Remove the upper rear engine cover by pulling it straight up.

Disconnecting the engine speed sensor 

Remove: 

-

the 1 M6 screw of the engine speed sensor; pull out the sensor

-

the connector from the engine speed sensor.

Installation 

NOTE:  See Specifications.

Installing the engine speed sensor 

Install: 

-

the engine speed sensor; tighten the screw

-

the connector to the engine speed sensor.
