GENERAL
INFORMATION:
Future Yugo radios will use a 12-pin harness connector rather than the 9-pin connector used presently. Starting with late
April production, Yugo GVs will be equipped with a 12 pin radio wiring harness which, in conjunction with the new radios,
will result in better sound quality and expanded versatility. We have developed two harness adapters to improve
interchangeability.
PARTS
Adapter, 12 pin radio to 9 pin vehicle - #5739.
INFORMATION:
Adapter, 9 pin radio to 12 pin vehicle - #5740. These will be detailed in Parts Catalog/Technical Bulletin 86-0006.
SERVICE
INFORMATION:
Installation procedure for a 9 pin radio in a 9 pin vehicle has not changed. Installation of a 12 pin radio in a 12 pin vehicle is
similar to the present installation, the only difference being the style of connector.
1.
Installation of 12 pin radio in 9 pin vehicle:
Using harness adapter #5739, connect 9 pin female connector to vehicle. Connect 12 pin male connector to radio.
2.
Installation of 9 pin radio in 12 pin vehicle:
Using harness adapter #5740, connect 12 pin female connector to vehicle. Connect 9 pin male connector to radio.
