Valve Timing Adjust
1.
Temporarily install timing belt cover.
2.
Turn crankshaft until timing mark (4), Fig. 11, on crankshaft pulley is aligned with index (5) on timing belt cover.
3.
Turn camshaft sprocket and align index mark (1) on back of sprocket with index mark (2) on timing belt shield.
4.
Move belt tensioner (3) to compress spring and secure it in place.
5.
Install timing belt with slack on tensioner side, ensuring timing belt teeth are perfectly coupled with sprockets.
6.
Loosen nut holding tensioner pulley to allow tensioner to tighten belt, then tighten tensioner pulley nut in this position to specifications.
7.
Install timing belt cover and ensure timing marks are still aligned.
