Constant Velocity Joint Boot: Service and Repair

1.

Remove axle shaft as described under AXLE SHAFT.

2.

Remove snap ring from inner end of axle and slide tripod joint off spline.

3.

Remove boot, bushing and seal as an assembly.

4.

Clean polished surface of axle with suitable solvent and fine emery cloth to provide proper sealing surface.

5.

Replace sealing parts as necessary.

6.

Using axle shaft oil seal installation tool A 70375 J or equivalent over end of axle to avoid damage to seal lip when sliding boot onto axle shaft.
