Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Parking Brake Cable Replacement
NOTE: The parking brake cable must not be bent or distorted. This will lead to stiff operation and premature cable failure. Refer to the Exploded
View as needed during this procedure.
1. Raise the rear of the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported, then remove the rear wheel.
2. Remove the cotter pin from the upper ball joint castle nut, and remove the nut.
3. Separate the upper ball joint from the knuckle using the special tool.
4. Remove the ABS sensor from the brake backing plate.
