Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Diagnostic Trouble Code Tests and Associated Procedures

Radiator and Condenser Fans Circuit Troubleshooting A
1. Check for the No. 3 (7.5A) fuse in the driver's under dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES-Go to step 2.
NO-Check for these problems:

A short in the wire between the driver's underdash fuse/relay box and fan control module 8P connector terminal No. 2.

A short in the wire between the driver's underdash fuse/relay box and fan control relay 5P socket terminal No. 5 (J32A2 engine).
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Measure the voltage between fan control module 8P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES-J32A1 engine: Go to step 7 J32A2 engine: Go to step 4.
NO-Repair an open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and fan control module 8P connector terminal No. 2.
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Disconnect the radiator fan motor 2P connector.
6. Check for continuity between radiator fan motor 2P connector terminal No. 1 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES-Go to step 8.
NO-Check for an open in the wire between radiator fan motor 2P connector terminal No. 1 and G204. If the wire is OK, check for a poor
ground at G204.
7. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
8. Disconnect the fan control module 8P connector.
9. Check for continuity between fan control module 8P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
