Fuel Gauge Sender: Service and Repair
Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Test/Replacement
1. Remove the spare tire lid.
2. Remove the access panel from the floor.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then disconnect the fuel pump 5P connector.
4. Remove the fuel fill cap.
5. Relieve the fuel pressure.
6. Disconnect the quick-connect fittings from the fuel pump.
7. Remove the bolts (A) and the fuel tank unit (B).
8. Measure resistance between No.1 and No.2 terminals with the float at E (EMPTY), 1/2 (HALF FULL), and F (FULL) positions. If you do not get
the shown readings, replace the fuel gauge sending unit (A).
