Connector Halves Connected

Both frontal airbags, the side airbags (if so equipped), and the seat belt tensioners have a spring-loaded lock connector with a built-in short contact.
When this connector is disconnected, the power terminal and the ground terminal in the airbag connector are automatically shorted.
