Valve Body: Testing and Inspection
Throttle Valve Body/Linear Solenoid Assembly
Test
1. Connect the No. 4 (RED: +) terminal of the shift solenoid valve/A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve harness connector to the battery
positive terminal and the No. 3 (WHT:-) terminal to the battery negative terminal. Check that the throttle valve moves.
2. Disconnect the battery terminals, and check that the throttle valve releases.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
NOTE: You can see throttle valve movement through the fluid passage in the attaching surface of the throttle valve body.
4. If the throttle valve binds, or moves sluggishly, or if the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve does not operate, replace the throttle valve
body/A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve assembly.
5. If the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve does not operate, disconnect the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve harness from the A/T
clutch pressure control solenoid valve. Connect the battery terminals directly to the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve.
6. If the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve operates after connecting the battery, and the throttle valve movement is OK, replace the shift
solenoid valves A and B.
