SYMPTOM
A shake in the steering wheel or a body vibration when the brakes are applied; the brake pedal may also vibrate.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Thickness variations in the front brake discs caused by the brake pad lining material.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Refinish the front brake discs, measure total disc thickness after refinishing, and replace the pads with the improved ones listed under PARTS
INFORMATION. Do not reuse the old pads, even if the lining thicknesses are normal.

NOTE: The pads in this set are improved from the old ones. Do not use old pads (P/N 45022-SV5-A01) for replacement.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Refinish both front brake discs on the car with a Kwik-Way or Snap-on brake lathe. For information on disc refinishing, refer to the lathe's
operating manual and to Service Bulletin 86-014, Brake Disc Refinishing.
2.
Install the new brake pads.
3.
Test-drive the car to make sure the brakes operate normally.
