Product Update: Hood Release Cable
BACKGROUND
The hood release cable may be misrouted, allowing it to rub against the radiator. If so, the cable may damage the radiator and cause a coolant leak.

Not all vehicles within these affected VIN ranges are eligible for this campaign. Verity the vehicle's eligibility before beginning any repairs.
Customer has a campaign letter - If the customer comes in with a product update campaign letter (see the example at the end of this service bulletin),
repair the vehicle and file a warranty claim. Attach a copy of the letter to the repair order.
No letter - If a customer brings in a 1997 CL for service and does not have a letter, verify that the vehicle is eligible for this campaign.
