Unplug the combination switch assembly harness 4P connector from the cable reel. Detach the cable reel 2P connector from its connector holder,
and unplug the 2P connector from the SRS main harness.

Remove the cable reel from the steering column (three screws).

13.

Remove the combination switch assembly from the steering column (three screws) to expose the copper shield on the steering column ball bearing.

14.

Use a small, flat-tip screwdriver to lightly dimple the shield in eight places as shown.

NOTICE 

Do not press too hard with the screwdriver when dimpling the shield. Excessive pressure can cause too much deformation of the shield, resulting in
high rotation torque of the steering column, requiring steering column replacement.

15.

Reinstall the combination switch assembly, and secure it with the three screws.

16.

Position the cancel sleeve on the combination switch assembly so that the projections on the sleeve are aligned vertically.
