To ease reassembly, note location ® of the outer handle rod on the joint before disconnecting it.

Take care not to bend the outer handle rod.

Use a shop towel to protect the opening in the door.
6. Disconnect the cylinder rod as shown.
NOTE: Take care not to damage the lock cylinder joint.
7. If necessary, remove the lock cylinder, cylinder protector and cap. Release the retainer clip from the outer handle with pliers as shown.
