Close the sunshade. Working from the outside, place a shop cloth on top of the sunshade under the glass bracket.

Use a file to elongate the front mounting hole in the glass bracket by 1 mm.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 on the other glass bracket.

8.

Apply touch-up paint to the bare metal (see REQUIRED MATERIALS).

9.

Reinstall the shims and the moonroof glass. Tighten the mounting nuts to 9.8 N.m (7.2 lb-ft) while pushing the glass toward the rear of the car.

10.

Reinstall the bracket covers.

11.

Slide the moon roof back. Apply a silicone lubricant to the moonroof seal along the front edge.

12.

Test the moonroof's operation. If the seal still contacts the roof, remove one shim from each side of the front of the moonroof.

NOTE:

If the seal is distorted and will not return to its original shape, replace the moonroof glass.
