Drive Belt Deflection

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS 

NOTE:  When using a new belt, adjust deflection or tension to new values. Run the engine for 5 minutes then turn it off. Readjust deflection or
tension to used belt values.

Deflection [1]: 

With Used Belt ........................................................................................................................................................  13.0 - 16.0 mm (0.51 - 0.63 inch)
With New Belt ........................................................................................................................................................  11.0 - 12.5 mm (0.43 - 0.49 inch)

Belt Tension [2]: 

With Used Belt ..............................................................................................................................................................  390 - 540 N (88 - 121 ft. lbs.)
With New Belt ............................................................................................................................................................  740 - 880 N (165 - 198 ft. lbs.)

[1] With 98 N (22 ft. lbs.) between pulleys.
