Shift Cable: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, precautions, and procedures in the Restraints section (24) before
performing repairs and service.

1. Raise the front of the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2. Set the parking brake, and block both rear wheels securely.
3. Remove the front console.
4. Shift to [N] position, then remove the lock pin from the cable adjuster.

5. Remove the bolts securing the bracket.
6. Remove the bolts securing the shift cable holder, then remove the shift cable cover.

7. Remove the lock bolt securing the control lever, then remove the shift cable with the control lever.
8. Remove the bolts securing the floor heat shield, then lower the floor heat shield on the exhaust pipe
