Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair
Hood Opener Cable Replacement
1. Remove these items:

Front bulkhead cover
-
Inner fender, left side
-
Kick panel, left side
2. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) and hood release handle (C). Fastener Locations
3. Using a clip remover, detach the clips (D, E) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable from the vehicle. Take care not to bend the cable.
4. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these item:

Replace any damaged clips.

On '01-02 models, route the cable through the hole (F) in the body.

On '03 model, route the cable between the bulkhead and the headlight.
