NOTE:

Contaminated brake linings or drums reduce stopping ability.

Block the front wheels before jacking up the rear of the vehicle.
1. Raise the rear of the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported. Remove the rear wheels.
2. Release the parking brake, and remove the rear caliper and brake disc/drum.
3. Disengage the upper return spring (A) with the tool (B).
4. Remove the tension pins (A) by pushing the retainer spring (B) and turning the pins.
5. Disconnect the rod spring (A), and remove the connecting rod (B).
