Housing Assembly HVAC: Service and Repair
Heater Hoses
1. Drain coolant and disconnect heater hoses at firewall. Be prepared to catch additional coolant that will run out when hoses are disconnected.
2. Remove control cable from heater valve.
3. Remove heater lower mounting nut.
4. Remove console.
Heater Assembly
5. Disconnect air mix cable from heater.
6. Remove dash.
7. Unplug ware harness connector.
8. Remove 2 heater mounting bolts and pull assembly from body.
9. Install in reverse order of removal and observe the following:
a. Apply proper sealant to grommets.
b. Do not switch inlet and outlet hoses.
c. Loosen bleed bolt on engine. Refill radiator and reservoir tank with proper coolant mixture.
d. Tighten bleed bolt when trapped air has escaped and coolant flows from bolt.
