Fuel Pressure Regulator: Testing and Inspection

Check for proper fuel pressure, refer to ``Fuel Pressure Testing'' procedure.
2.
If fuel pressure is not as specified and fuel pump is satisfactory, check pressure regulator as follows:
a. Check for pinched or broken vacuum hoses, then disconnect vacuum hose from regulator and check pressure. Pressure should rise to 36-41
psi.
b. If fuel pressure does not rise as specified, check whether it rises when return hose is lightly pinched.
c. If pressure still does not rise, replace regulator and retest.
