Starter Motor: Service and Repair
1. Obtain five digit radio theft protection code as described under Vehicle Damage Warnings. Disarm airbag system as outlined under Technician
Safety Information.
2. Remove intake air duct.
3. Disconnect all electrical connectors from starter.
4. Remove starter attaching bolts, then the starter.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Torque starter attaching bolts to 33 ft. lbs.
6. Restore coded theft protection system as described under Vehicle Damage Warnings. Rearm airbag system as outlined under Technician Safety
Information.
