Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Disassembly

PROCEDURE 

1. Pulley  

a. Drain the fluid from the pump.

b. Hold the steering pump in a vise with soft jaws, and hold the pulley with the special tool and remove the pulley nut and pulley.

CAUTION:  Be careful not to damage the pump housing with the jaws of the vise.

NOTE:  Pulley nut has left-hand threads.

2. Flow Control Valve  

a. Remove the control valve cover by removing the three flange bolts.

b. Remove the spring, flow control valve and O-rings.
