Drive Belt Deflection

NOTE:  When using a new belt, adjust deflection or tension to new values. Run the engine for 5 minutes then turn it off. Readjust deflection or tension
to used belt values.

DEFLECTION [1]:

With Used Belt ..............................................................................................................................................................  11.5 - 13.5 mm (0.45 - 0.53 inch)
With New Belt ................................................................................................................................................................  8.0 - 10.0 mm (0.31 - 0.39 inch)

BELT TENSION [2]:

With Used Belt ................................................................................................................................................  390 - 540 N (40 - 55 kgf, 88 - 120 ft. lbs.)
With New Belt ...............................................................................................................................................  740 - 880 N (75 - 90 kgf, 170 - 200 ft. lbs.)

[1] With 98 N (10 kgf, 22 ft. lbs.) between pulleys.
[2] Measured with belt tension gauge.
