Variable Induction Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

1.

Start engine and remove cover from valve.

2.

With coolant temperature below 86°F, place finger over valve seat and ensure that air flow is evident. If air flow is not evident, replace valve.

3.

Allow engine to reach normal operating temperature (cooling fan cycling). Valve should be completely closed. Listen for suction sound around
seat area indicating that valve is leaking. If suction sound is evident, replace valve.
