Center Mounted Brake Lamp: All Technical Service Bulletins
Recall - Improper Modification to the CHMSL Lens

TO ALL ACURA DEALERS:

We have been advised by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that some new car dealers are placing a company name or logo on the lens
of the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL). This practice apparently involves a number of different makes. We have been requested to advise our
dealers that this is a modification of the CHMSL that adversely affects the safety and the purpose of the CHMSL.

The modification of the CHMSL may be a violation of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Therefore, we request that if your dealership is
placing anything over the CHMSL lens, that this be stopped immediately, in order to avoid any violation of the safety standards.
